The City Government of Navotas has prepared a series of activities to commemorate its 117th founding anniversary on January 16.
The Navotas Day celebration with the theme, “Angat All, Saya All sa Pakikipagkapwa,” will kick off its festivities with Misa ng Pasasalamat and Pistang Kristyano today (Monday, January 9).
Kalye Fiesta, a banchetto-style night market, will likewise open at the Navotas Citywalk and Amphitheater.
On January 10, Navotas will hold the Araw ng Mangingisda, featuring competitions on boat racing and net mending, distribution of NavoBangka, and awarding of the Top 10 Most Outstanding Fisherfolk.
Navotas will also give recognition to the Top 20 Taxpayers in Business and Realty on January 13.
“We invite everyone to join our celebration. While the past years have been challenging for all of us, we remain thankful for the blessings, protection, and guidance we received from the Almighty,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Also included in the Navotas Day lineup of activities are Zumba and Health Caravan for Lolo and Lola, Funbike and Funbikers’ Race, and Open-Air Martial Arts Exhibition.
There will also be simultaneous clean-up activity, distribution of cash aid to solo parents, mega job fair, and financial literacy webinars.
