Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (PCAARRD) will establish impact community in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.
Activities with Alangan mangyan community has already started under the research,
“Establishing the DOST-PCAARRD Impact Communities [DOST-PCAARRD Para sa Pamayanan]” with Princess Alma B. Ani as project leader.
The research being conducted by Economics Research Division of the PCAARRD
explores entry points in establishing an impact community in Alangan Mangyan community in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.
The project is in collaboration with Mindoro State University and non-government organization Pampamayanang Mangyan Ugnayan Inc.
Mayor Joselito C. Malabanan of Victoria, Oriental Mindoro
assured the research team of his support for the project and committed to providing any necessary data.
The team held focus group discussions with the Alangan Mangyan in Barangay Canaan.
