CABARROGUIS, Quirino —The Department of Environment and Natural Resources will put out P175 million for two forest protection programs in this province.
Thelma Bicarme, Philippine Information Agency center manager, said the funding was approved during the recent visit of Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu here.
The two forest protection programs are the Quirino Protection of Watersheds, Ecosystems and Rivers or QPOWER with P155 million and the Enhanced National Greening Program with P20 million.
The QPOWER is a watershed rehabilitation program covering 16 barangays, while the Enhanced NGP is a reforestation program covering three barangays with 260 hectares.
