SAN MARIANO, Isabela – Rep. Ed Christopher S. Go of the second district of Isabela delivered his inaugural speech citing the various achievements and programs on public service and COVID-19 response on June 30 here at Hilltop, Zone 1 here.
“When I came before you three years ago to take my oath of office, I was brimming with hopeful eyes and with eagerness to serve the newly constituted 2nd District of Isabela.”
“In my neophyte mind, this is what I envisioned for the 2nd District: a progressive district that is inclusive, peaceful, resilient, and sustainable. A district that empowers the vulnerable and respects its environment and heritage. As before, as shall it be,” Rep. Go said.

Rep. Ed Christopher S. Go of the second district of Isabela (seated) shows his signed oath of office after his inaugural speech on June 30 with Governor Rodito Albano, Mayor Bobot Go, and Board Member Ed Christian Go at the Isabela Convention Center in Cauayan City.

The young legislator expressed gratitude to his parents, Mayor Edgar ‘Bobot’ and Rep. Ana Go for raising him to a life of public service and love for his fellow Isabelinos. Alongside, he was hopeful and confident that with hard work and unwavering faith he can serve the district well.
The lawmaker detailed the locales pandemic response and interventions to curb the cases of COVID-19 amid the global health crisis that demonstrated a hard turn, to rather dangerous and seemingly insurmountable terrain.
He partnered with Governor Rodito Albano for the immediate construction of isolation centers alongside securing Covid 19-kits, medicines, rescue vehicles, and PPEs to the front-liners and those from far-flung barangays.
Eyeing for continuous job security among its constituents and enthused for economic activities amid the pandemic, Go pushed hard with numerous infrastructure programs.

“Most likely, in response to the needs of our kababayans who were losing lives, jobs, and confidence to move on, we must decisively pass legislation in the 18th Congress through more drastic and novel solutions,” Go stressed.
He cited the support of Speakers Allan Cayetano and Lord Allan Velasco for the allocation of P300 million intended for medical assistance, Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients program, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, DOLE-TUPAD, the Sustainable Livelihood Program, and other social service programs.
For this year 2022, he was able to secure P1.70 billion, the highest annual total in the district’s history ever.
The solon revealed the construction of a modern concrete road that will finally connect the different towns in the district to Palanan. “We have secured to allocate P200 million a year for this multi-year priority infrastructure project,” he said.

“With all modesty, these record numbers are now the parameters that I will seek to replicate or hopefully surpass in the 19th Congress,” he added.
Designated as one of the youngest Vice-Chairpersons of the Committee on Appropriations, out of his 242 sponsored bills and resolutions, 28 have been enacted into law.
Being the principal author of Republic Act No.11697 which has provided the national energy policy and regulatory framework for the use of Electric Vehicles, the young solon takes pride in his modest initiative of this significant law that could be a major help to the populace to neutralize the effects of high fuel prices.
As I take my oath of office today, I roll our sleeves into the 19th Congress. I shall resume my task to enact laws declaring and establishing Ecotourism zones, science high schools, and TESDA training centers in our district. I shall again push doubly hard for the continuation of our priority project to link us up with Palanan.
We have already concreted 20 kilometers of that missing link; we hope to finish the remaining 40 kilometers during my second term. Be assured that I will be your lead advocate for the enactment of all the priority laws of our kabsat, President, Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr.
All told, despite the odds, the challenges, and difficulties, it was a term like no other. I look forward to my second term because I have you standing by, united with my vision. To my esteemed partners in governance, I commend all of you for your dedication to fulfilling your sworn duty, undeterred by the challenges we must surmount.
To my katropa and my kadistrito, I am thankful and deeply humbled by your continued trust and confidence in my leadership.
It is but fitting that I take my oath today before everybody who stood by me as my partner in delivering public service to our constituents during a difficult time. To all our Municipal Mayors, Vice Mayors, SB Members, and Barangay Captains thank you for believing in me and for ably manning the frontlines.
Without you as my partners in governance, I could do so much. I look forward to working with you again. Maraming, maraming salamat po!
“God bless District 2! God bless Isabela! God bless the Filipino!” Rep. Ed Christopher S. Go concluded.
