Following the landslides and flooding experienced by the residents of Banaue, Ifugao, #BrigadangAyala once again came together to provide food assistance for affected families.

With Ayala Foundation serving as the lead, the Ayala group visited nine barangays in Banaue, Ifugao, distributing food packs for as many as 1,000 families. Each food pack contained rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, and face masks.

#BrigadangAyala distributed 1,000 food packs for families in nine barangays of Banaue affected by the recent flooding.

To deliver the goods, Ayala Foundation worked closely with the local government of Banaue. Makati Development Corporation, Ayala Land’s construction arm, helped with the transport of the goods, while members of the 54th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines assisted with the packing and distribution.

“Kami po ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa tulong na naipadala niyo ngayong araw. ‘Yung mga food packs relief na puwede namin ipamigay sa mga affected barangays at mga residente na naapektuhan ng flash floods at ng calamity na ito,” said Banaue Mayor Joel Bungallon.

#BrigadangAyala is the Ayala group’s united contribution to serving people and communities nationwide.

Initially a groupwide volunteerism program for the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela program, #BrigadangAyala now serves as the umbrella campaign for various social development and corporate social responsibility initiatives across the group—ranging from disaster relief and response, assistance for public education, championing of social enterprises, and public health advocacy, among others.

Members of the 54th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, together with the Makati Development Corporation, joined Ayala Foundation during the Banaue relief efforts.

#BrigadangAyala is one of the expressions of the Ayala group’s continuing commitment to the greater good.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) is one of the programs under Ayala Foundation’s initiatives to foster love of country.

Through programs as diverse as DRRM, community leadership efforts under Leadership Communities, and the arts and culture initiatives of the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library, Ayala Foundation’s initiatives under Love of Country promotes active citizenship, forming and solidifying a movement that upholds the courage and dignity—the kagitingan—of every Filipino.
