SANTIAGO CITY – Alicia, Isabela Councilor Rom Mikhail “Miko” Go was elected provincial chairman of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) during the Regional and Provincial election held at Zen Hotel on September 22 in this city.

“I thank the newly elected officers and my fellow young legislators in the province of Isabela for the trust and confidence and for this opportunity to be part of the leadership of this prestigious organization,” he said.

“I felt overawed and thank the support of Mayor Caesar Jaycee Dy Jr., former Isabela Chapter NMYL Chairperson (2019-2022), our officers, and members to lead the chapter.”

“We knew in the first place how crucial the role of young legislators is in the development of a local government,” Go said.

“Let us work together as we venture where the chapter could cause innovative ideas, committed to good governance in legislation and policy development, and be productive for the populace of the province to gain from us,” the newly elected chair stressed.

Go expressed his joy with the result of the election. “This just proves how united we are in our organization and right now along with the other elected officers.”

He looks forward for young legislators in the province to be more systematized with the aim to make their lives more effective and productive.

“With the opportunity given to us and the province as duly represented in NMYL, we will be looking onward to implement programs that will be beneficial to the populace, strengthen idealism and to be more effective in our respective locales,” he added.

Other elected officials were Councilor Jay Eveson “Jayve” Diaz as Vice Chairperson of the City of Ilagan, San Isidro Councilor Guill Mariano as Secretary General, San Mariano Councilor Nemo Aggabao as Asst. Secretary, Santa Maria Councilor Isaac Pagauitan as Treasurer, Jones Councilor Irene Uy-Aggabao as Asst. Treasurer, Cauayan City Councilor Miko Delmendo as Auditor, and Santiago City Councilor Jamayne Tan as Public Relations Officer.

Elected members of the Board of Directors were Delfin Albano Councilor Elijohn Cañero & Divilacan Councilor Dan Bulan in District 1; Palanan Councilor Ej Bernardo in District 2, Ramon Councilor Keith Esteban in District 3, Dinapigue Councilor Jojit Araña in District 4, San Manuel Councilor Jo-Mark Mateo and Burgos Councilor Matvee Espejo in District 5 and Cauayan City Councilor Balong Uy and San Isidro Tin Bravo in District 6.

Board Member Arco Meris of Isabela was elected as the Regional Chair for Cagayan Valley Region succeeding incumbent Tuguegarao City Councilor Atty. Marjorie Martin-Chan.

Regional Director Jonathan Paul Leusen of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) officially proclaimed the unopposed Councilor Rom Mikhail Go as the Provincial President and other officers before more than 100 young legislators in the Cagayan Valley Region.
