It’s not even wedding season but all the who’s who in Hollywood are wearing white. Ahead of the Oscars, celebrities walked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in style with some of the season’s hottest trends. Jewel tones and dark shades were aplenty, but white stood out as the top choice among the stars.

Reese Witherspoon appeared super polished and slick in a custom one-shoulder Giorgio Armani that hugged her like a glove. The understated hair and makeup, plus minimal accessories, drew the eye to her amazing figure.
Maggie Gyllenhaal opted for a romantic Thakoon creation with plunging neckline. Statement earrings and her trademark pixie cut worked together with the long-sleeved dress, making her look really regal. It was also a smart move to do away with a neckpiece.

Showing off her natural curly hair, Viola Davis turned heads in a halterneck Max Mara with a bit of peekaboo in the cleavage area. Again, accessories were kept at a minimum and that rectangular box clutch is a great addition to the ensemble.
Ariel Winter, just a few days before turning 17, pulled off Hollywood bombshell elegance in a skintight Zac Posen. On her, the dress looked super tailored and precise. The train was okay, but the piece would’ve worked as well without it, maybe even better.
Dascha Polanco from Orange Is The New Black went for ultra-feminine in an all-lace dress by Michael Costello. The long-sleeved high-collar look embraced her body in all the right places and the serpentina bottom balances it all out.

Downton Abbey’s Laura Carmichael slip into an edgy creation by Vionnet. The dress was interesting, with its flaps and layers and that sheer skirt. It’s a wonderful number, no doubt about it. But it’s not very red carpet and the silhouette could’ve been more streamlined.
Looking positively radiant, Paula Patton arrived at the show in Ayesha. The toned down hair and makeup set off the beautiful emerald earrings she was wearing and the intricately detailed gown with jewel accents. It does, however, seem a couple inches too long for her.
White is not the most forgiving of colors, being prone to very visible stains and revealing every little imperfection on the body. But that didn’t stop these beautiful ladies from flaunting what they have in the angelic hue, proving that the immaculate white dress isn’t just for walking down the aisle.
