There’s no limit to making art or where artists can draw inspiration. Take it from Zachiko G. Jontongco, a Grade 10 student from Victorious Christian Montessori College Inc. He began making his pieces after being inspired by simple yet vibrant subjects around him.

“The more colorful and balanced the subject is, the more inspired I get! But, usually, when I scroll through social media, specifically Instagram and Twitter. I see other artists (mostly oil painters) and their works, which are so beautiful and motivational, which gives me the drive to work!” he said.

Jontongco began recognizing his talent at four years old. His cousin would doodle blobs and comic-styled whips on paper. It piqued the young Jontongco’s interest, so he began drawing everything from his colorful imagination. He usually draws characters and people he likes, often from pop culture or the people around him.

“My art style is very versatile, but I’m still finding the right style that fits and corresponds to me the most! The artists that inspire my art style are Will Rochfort (@willrochfortart), Safeyah Aljabouri (@aljabouri), and Scott Christian Sava (@ssavaart),” he shared.
