This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

MOLLY, a one-and-a-half-year-old female shih tzu, is very special to owner Graciaz Amatorio and is treated as the youngest member of their family.
“When we go out, we bring her with us. When we sleep, she sleeps beside us. That is how special she is to us,” says Graciaz.
She will cry if we do not bring her with us. She also jumps out of joy when we arrive from work, Graciaz adds.
“When we play hide and seek, she is always the ‘taya’ or the one who has to look for us. She will really look for us! She will not stop until she finds us,“ Graciaz shares.
“When we’d go out without her, we’d discuss first what food she will eat while we are away. We also always make sure we have “pasalubong’ or a gift for her when we get home. We love her very much, “ says Graciaz.

SUMMER, now two months, was a tiny, scraggly white kitten when owner Migs Almendral saw her about to cross the street.
“Summer was so small and looked really scared that I decided to pick her up and carry her home. She adjusted well to her new home,” Migs says.
Migs adds: “ Feisty and frisky, she knows when to be assertive at mealtime when she has to share food with her furry brothers and sisters.”
“Summer loves snuggling during naptime and playing with anything,” shares Migs.
“From a skinny and dirty-looking kitten, she has now bloomed after a month of tender loving care,” Migs says proudly.
