Leni-Kiko ticket changes colors, not just all pink

The new campaign logo of Vice President Leni Robredo is not all pink anymore, but all colors, said senatorial ticket campaign manager Erin Tanada.

“You are welcome regardless of your color if you are for the country’s growth under an honest government,” Tanada said.

The Robredo-Kiko Pangilinan ticket made the statement following the launch of a new campaign logo that “brings together citizens from all walks of life.”

He said the message of the Leni-Kiko campaign team is just simple: “We welcome all colors.”

Meanwhile, the Robredo camp believes the rise of her survey results would “carry her forward to a victory” as the country’s next president.
Ibarra Gutierrez, Robredo’s spokesperson, said they are “very confident” of her winning in the May 9 polls.

“One thing that I want to emphasize is, surveys are a snapshot. They are not an indication of inevitability. If anything, the sequence of snapshots we have seen over the past few weeks indicates that the VP’s numbers are going up, the momentum is with her and we are very
very confident going into the last 19 days until election will carry her forward to a victory on May 9,” he told an ANC interview.

In the latest Pulse Asia survey from March 17 to 21, Robredo’s voter preference rose by 9 percentage points, narrowing the gap between her and ex-senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Gutierrez said they have remained unfazed by the endorsement of One Cebu party of Marcos’ presidential bid.

“We’re not too concerned. And the reason for that is we never really factored in—as part of our general strategy from the beginning— endorsements coming from local officials,” he said.

“She did not have a single endorsement from any of her mayors, so her strategy at that point, which is the strategy we have adopted from the start is go directly to the people and so far, we feel that that is a strategy that has paid off even in places where in provinces where we do not have local government support, the outpouring of ordinary people coming to her rallies, volunteering for her has been tremendous,” he said.

Gutierrez meanwhile reiterated that there have been no active efforts on Robredo’s camp to ask any presidential candidate to withdraw from the May polls.

Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso earlier challenged Robredo to withdraw her candidacy.

Gutierrez said that former Quezon City Mayor Brigido “Jun” Simon, who was identified by reports as the one who asked some candidates to back out from the presidential race “is not authorized” to speak on behalf of Robredo’s campaign team.

Earier, presidential candidates Norberto Gonzales and Panfilo Lacson have distanced themselves from Domagoso’s call for Robredo to resign.
