The Philippines’ Maria Angelica Pantaliano won the Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2022/2023 title during the coronation night held live Friday at Raia Hotel and Convention Centre, in Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A bank teller from Mandaue, Cebu City, Pantaliano also bagged the Miss Photogenic special award.
“I want to promote this platform of Malaysia as a pioneer in the use of hydrogen buses which will help eradicate or lessen (global) carbon footprint,” Pantaliano answered during the final Q&A round.
Miss Thailand Suphatra Kliangprom was crowned Miss Tourism International 2022/23 while Miss Venezuela Laura Zabaleta was named Miss Tourism Queen of The Year International 2022/23.
Other winners were Miss Tourism Global 2022/23 Crystal Huang Ruojia of Singapore; Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2022/23 Alysa Cook of USA; Dreamgirl of The Year International 2022/23 Abigail Curd of New Zealand; and Miss South East Asia Tourism Ambassadress 2022/23 Phoebe Ong Yi Huui of Malaysia.
Pantaliano was appointed by the Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization, headed by Cory Quirino, and trained under Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores beauty camp to represent the country at the annual pageant held virtually the last two years due to the pandemic.
