At least 400 farmer-beneficiaries in Barangay Binongkalan, Catmon, Cebu have received 326 certificates of land ownership award (CLOA) covering 157.28 hectares of agricultural land from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
The distribution of land titles was in line with a directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through the leadership of Agrarian Secretary Conrado Estrella III.
Prior to the distribution of CLOAs, DAR officials and personnel discussed the rights and obligations of the agrarian reform beneficiaries to their properties.
Grace Fua, provincial agrarian reform program officer II, who led the distribution of CLOAs attended by Catmon Mayor Aves Monleon, said DAR is pooling all their efforts to fast-track the issuance of the CLOAs to the landless farmers.
“Apart from helping them in making their lands productive, the DAR also reminds them from time to time of their obligations such as paying their taxes to confirm ownership over the land,” she said.
