Supt. Marvin Marcos to head CIDG-Socsargen

A day after President Rodrigo Duterte and Philippine National Police (PNP) Ronald dela Rosa announced that suspended PNP- Eastern Visayas Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Region 8) Director Supt. Marvin Marcos would be reinstated, the head of the PNP-CIDG based in Camp Crame announced the specific position waiting for the police official.

PNP-CIDG Director Chief Supt. Roel Obusan revealed, Marcos will head the CIDG in Socsargen.

Socsargen covers South Cotabato, Sarangani and General Santos City.

Obusan also said, the 18 policemen implicated along with Marcos in the slay of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. will also be reinstated.

Espinosa was shot dead in his detention cell at Baybay City sub-provincial jail on November 5, 2016.

Marcos and the 18 cops are facing homicide cases for the incident.

Duterte had promised to grant Marcos pardon if he is convicted in court.

The President also wants Marcos to be able to return to work, saying that the police official’s suspension period has ended.
