True to its commitment to delivering market-leading advanced fuel and lubricants to consumers while supporting the motorsports industry, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) recently co-presented the MSCC Miata Spec Series inaugural season together with Mazda Philippines and the Manila Sports Car Club (MSCC) at the 4,189-kilometer Clark International Speedway (CIS).

Powered to perform: the Mazda MX-5 units used by the MSCC Miata Spec Series contestants are fueled by Shell V-Power for improved performance and efficiency.

“Together with Mazda Philippines and the Manila Sports Car Club, we seek to empower motorsports enthusiasts through our innovative, top-of-the-line motor oils,” PSPC Vice President and General Manager for Mobility Randy del Valle said during the opening event where 20 brand new Mazda MX-5 units competed in a 10-lap race for the first round of the four-round race series.

Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan said: “This is a dream come true not just for us at Mazda Philippines, but for the Manila Sports Car Club as well. It was a long time coming, and it’s the result of our blood, sweat, and tears. It’s truly a passion project, and I’m glad that MSCC members were able to celebrate driving with the most-raced car in the world—the MX-5.”

Since 2013, Pilipinas Shell and Mazda Philippines have successfully collaborated as business partners.

Miata Club Philippines President Marc de Joya, Manila Sports Car Club Representative for the Miata Specs Series Windy Imperial, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation Vice President and General Manager for Mobility Randy del Valle, and Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan at the opening event of the Manila Sports Car Club Miata Spec Series inaugural season at Clark International Speedway.

Mazda Philippines chose Shell V-Power to energize the Mazda MX-5 units used by the MSCC Miata Spec Series contestants.

Arvin Obmerga, PSPC Head of Mobility Marketing, said before the race proper: “This strong partnership nurtured all these years has made Pilipinas Shell a trusted partner of Mazda Philippines. The partnership comes alive today, as we witness the synergy between Shell’s most advanced fuel, Shell V-Power, and Mazda’s best performance vehicle, the Mazda MX-5.”

Shell V-Power has Dynaflex Technology designed for improved performance and efficiency. It contains powerful cleaning molecules designed to help remove and prevent the build-up of performance-robbing engine deposits.

Pilipinas Shell has been supplying fully synthetic Shell Helix Ultra Professional lubricants for Mazda Philippines’ dealership network for almost a decade now.

The Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation team poses with a brand-new Mazda MX-5 unit at the opening event of the Manila Sports Car Club Miata Spec Series inaugural season at Clark International Speedway.

Being the number one global lubricant supplier in over 100 countries, Shell brings world-class technological insights to its products and offers the best formulations for vehicles.

Obmerga added: “We give our full support to Mazda Philippines and the Manila Sports Car Club, as they jointly promote the growth of motorsports in the country.”
