Local news matters on-air and online. This is why GMA Regional TV (RTV) is extending its reach of serving the latest news and information from various areas of the Philippines to a wider range of audiences by making waves in the popular video-sharing app TikTok.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia is just one of GMA RTV’s newscasts making waves on TikTok.

“In GMA Network, we remain steadfast to our commitment to deliver Serbisyong Totoo on-air, on-ground, and even online. This is why GMA Regional TV continues to find ways to bring local news and information to more Kapuso and these include tapping popular social media platforms such as TikTok which is very popular to the young generation,” says GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso.

As of Dec. 17, the regional arm of GMA Network already has cumulative views of 46,780,523 through its newscasts and morning shows’ TikTok accounts. These accounts include award-winning flagship local newscasts GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia, GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas, and GMA Regional TV One Mindanao; as well as the national newscast Regional TV News.

Likewise, regional morning shows Mornings with GMA Regional TV, GMA Regional TV Live!, GMA Regional TV Early Edition, and At Home with GMA Regional TV are also available on TikTok.

“We’ve made the content of our various GMA RTV newscasts and morning shows geo-targeted so that our Kapuso in the regions can stay updated with what’s happening in their area. At the same time, these videos are all delivered in their respective dialects which makes it easier for them to relate to,” shares Amoroso.

“We look forward to giving our younger audience the tools and means to keep themselves informed about the local news and updates that matter to them wherever they are in the Philippines,” he added.
Kapuso in the regions can only expect the best TikTok experience from the Platinum Stallion Award’s five-time Best Regional TV Station as GMA RTV is set to roll out more exciting content in the coming days.
