Cardo Dalisay, the iconic character played by Coco Martin in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, faces the biggest threat to his marriage as he finds a new, mysterious rival in Alyana’s (Yassi Pressman) heart, her childhood sweetheart played by Richard Gutierrez.

The introduction of Richard’s character is one of the latest developments in the long-running series that is now available via livestreaming on Kapamilya Online Live launched on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

In a virtual interview with Manila Standard Entertainment,  the 36-year-old actor shared that joining the series was an easy decision.

“I’ve been wanting to join the series since Coco and I talked about the offer. We've been in constant communication since last year. It's really the schedule that we had to fix so I could join Ang Probinsyano,” Richard shared.

Richard Gutierrez compares 'Ang Probinsyano' to a well-oiled machine which is why the series has been on air for almost five years and continues to provide entertainment to its loyal viewers.

The actor only had good words for his co-star who also directs the five-year-old action drama series. And he’s quite impressed by the way they work on the set.

“On the first day of taping, Coco already established the kind of working environment we’re going to have. He’s very hands-on. Alagang alaga ako sa set. Everything is organized and properly coordinated. The staff and crew already know what to do. Ang Probinsyano is like a well-oiled machine,” he said.

Richard has observed the kind of environment Coco created for Ang Probinsyano—from the relationship he has with the cast and crew to the system he uses for an easier and faster workflow—that made him feel at home in an instant.

“As a director, you will really see that he wants to make every scene perfect. As an actor, on the other hand, you will be impressed by his skills. It’s so easy for him to transition from being the one behind the camera to the person in front of the camera,” Richard shared.

“As an actor, I am very excited to be a part of this show that has been airing for years. Viewers should watch out for when my character finally comes face to face with Cardo and my love story with Alyana,” he added alluding to what people can expect from his character.

As Cardo and Task Force Aguila continue to hide from the authorities, they will find an ally in Lito (Richard), a wealthy businessman who offers them job opportunities in one of his properties.

Despite his reservations, Cardo is forced to trust Lito after Alyana vouches for him and swears that her childhood friend would do everything to protect them. Unbeknownst to Cardo, Alyana is Lito’s reason for living, and that she once swore to Lito that she would return for him.

Alyana’s homecoming also ignites Lito’s only motivation in life—to get Alyana back, no matter the odds.

Will Lito win Cardo’s trust? How far will Lito go to destroy Cardo and Alyana’s marriage?

“That’s something that people need to find out,” Richard exclaimed.

Offered for free and without any subscription fee, Kapamilya Online Live livestreams a mix of current shows and classic Kapamilya programs throughout the day as ABS-CBN strengthens its digital presence to reach more Filipinos. It will also allow viewers to catch the latest episodes of their favorite shows as it will be available on-demand in the next 24 hours.

Katrina Halili headlines new episode of ‘Wish Ko Lang’

For the next fresh episode of Wish Ko Lang! airing tomorrow, actress Katrina Halili brings to life the story of Teresa—a loving and hard-working mother who got mysteriously sick. Joining her are Kim Rodriguez, Luis Hontiveros, and Elijah Alejo.

Nothing can stop Teresa when it comes to the welfare of her children. So, when her co-worker Cristel (Kim) picked on her 12-year-old daughter Marissa (Elijah), Teresa did not back down and defended the latter.

Because of her assertiveness, Cristel was fired by their boss Lander (Luis).

But something happened to Teresa: At first, she only had difficulty breathing but later on, her legs got swollen and her body got bloated.

Her family could not help but wonder if Cristel had something to do with Teresa’s condition. People urged Teresa’s family to have her checked by a doctor. But because they have no money, Teresa was not brought to a real doctor.

Now Teresa’s children are suffering especially Marissa. They love their mother so much that Marissa and her siblings will do everything for their mother.

“She is a loving mom. She will do everything of her family,” Katrina shared how she saw herself in Teresa.

Meanwhile, the latest Wish Ko Lang! offering is the first project of Luis as Kapuso. The actor recently signed a contract with GMA Network.

“I am extremely humbled to be part of such a significant show. I am grateful that Wish Ko Lang! was the first show to allow me to showcase my craft.”

Directed by Rommel Penesa and written by Erwin Caezar Bravo, watch the “Pighati” episode of Wish Ko Lang! hosted by Vicky Morales, this Saturday after Tadhana on GMA-7.
