With women we run; with adidas, we grow: adidas premieres month-long celebration of women

Long gone are the days where women are underestimated, questioned, and doubted. Today, women are their own empire: Being their own leaders, conquering sports, and shattering boundaries previously kept from them.

And throughout this time of women proving themselves, adidas has also stepped in – whether as support, as mentors, and also as a brand that constantly strives to improve and adapt their products in such a way that allows women to meet their personal goals. This month of March, as it celebrates Women’s Month, adidas unveils a string of activities that would help women, and everyone else, realize their full potential.

Lighter shoe, best performance yet

It is no secret that running can come with its own hurdles. Heavy midsoles can feel like a drag on the pavement; and, overall, a mismatched shoe can affect performance. This is what adidas answers as it introduces its lightest iteration of the Ultraboost shoe – the Ultraboost Light, designed to provide ultimate cushioning, comfort, and responsiveness across distances.

The brand aims to empower women through energetic activities throughout the month of March
Epic energy in every stride. adidas Runners Manila take on the Ultraboost Light Trial Run and enjoy the Ultraboost Light’s 30% lighter BOOST material

Coming with 30% lighter BOOST technology – its latest in a string of technological advances to cater all types of runners – the Ultraboost Light provides epic energy in every stride; and to show how Ultraboost Light can be every runner’s companion, adidas held its Ultraboost Light Trial Run on March 21 at Bonifacio Global City.

Starting and ending at adidas Two Parkade, novice and experienced runners alike experienced the boost of energy that only Ultraboost Light can give. With participants from adidas Runners Manila conquering 3K and 5K runs, the shoe’s features were felt in its entirety – from its lighter BOOST midsole, redesigned Linear Energy Push, comfortable PRIMEKNIT+ upper, and its Continental™ natural performance rubber that enabled all to finish the run.

Runners were also greeted by a talk from adidas Philippines Brand Activation Manager, Jen Dacasin, who shared, “adidas is constantly striving to take innovation to the next level and to listen to feedback from runners, all of which help the brand in designing improved products. With Ultraboost Light, our lightest Ultraboost iteration yet, epic bursts of energy can be expected by all types of runners, no matter the distance, and no matter the conditions.”

Comfort not only on the tarmac, but for all

The Ultraboost Run event comes hand-in-hand with adidas’ goal of tackling gender inequality in running, seen in its With Women We Run+ program, the third iteration of their yearly Girls Can Run initiative. Aware of the dangers women continue to face as they lace up their shoes, it aims to empower women and help them discover their running potential.

Led by adidas Runners Manila Coach Nylah Bautista, the three-month program will bring together 20 beginner and intermediate participants as they go through a series of training and workouts – all with the end goal of becoming better, stronger, and more competitive runners.

Supplementing this training are five workshops throughout the 12-week initiative, covering  topics such as women’s nutrition, male allyship, and mental toughness to provide holistic growth and development among the participants.

Encouraging all to be their best selves

For an all-round celebration of International Women’s Month, adidas also partnered with ZALORA for the second stop of their mobile pop-up concept Z-Train. Present at Greenbulb 3 Fashion Square from March 18 to April 18, Z-Train features the best adidas Women’s sports performance and lifestyle outfits— with selections for every woman.

Part of its vision to make the impossible possible, adidas will not only be offering special promos, but also hosting special Z-Train pocket fitness classes exclusively for women, by women. For more details about what adidas has in store for women at the Z-Train, visit https://www.zalora.com.ph/ztrain/.

“This year we’re strengthening our commitment to supporting women in sports, and there’s no better time to show that support than this month. That’s why throughout International Women’s Month, we’ve prepared a range of activities and events to give women the space to feel empowered and prove that Impossible is Nothing,” Dacasin said.
